Counselor's Corner

A School Counselor is a certified, trained, and caring professional that assists students with acquiring skills they need to enhance their personal, social, and educational development. Some of the areas that I will focus on will include self-confidence, motivation to achieve, goal setting, problem solving, bullying, communication, responsible behavior and much more!

 

I provide many services at school. Some of these services include the following: 

 

This service enables me to cast a wide net and present lessons to the students while in their classrooms. These lessons focus a great deal on character development. I will present lessons from the Learning for Life curriculum that will reinforce our school wide Leader in Me program. You can find a link to those websites under the character education tab. Occasionally, I will send home a family/home activity for you to complete with your child. This is a great way to reinforce these important skills. Most importantly, it ensures that you play a vital role in your child's character education!

 

This service enables me to facilitate positive improvement with students who share similar issues and concerns.

 

Sometimes a student is in need of more one on one assistance. In this case, I will confidentially visit with the student on a short term basis to help him/her with the issue that has been brought to my attention or the concern that the student has. Please keep in mind that school counseling is a short term resource. When a student requires more in depth attention, I will be happy to help you locate other resources.
