Mrs. B's Functional Academics Classroom
My name is Heather Blankenship, or Mrs. B. I am the K-2 Functional Academics Teacher at Cannon Elementary. I have been a special education teacher for 26 years. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I started out in Oklahoma in a self contained ED classroom for 3 years and then moved to Texas. I taught resource for 15 years in McKinney, TX and 7 years in Melissa, TX before my husband (Eric) and I decided to move to the Lake now that we are empty nesters! This is my second year at Cannon and absolutely loved last year and looking forward to an even better year this year!
Our oldest daughter, Isabella, is currently subbing in Quinlan ISD while she interviews to find the right Children's Ministry position, after she graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. Our youngest daughter, Anna, is a 1st year teacher in our Life Skills classroom at Cannon, (right next door) after working in our room last year as a paraprofessional. She graduated in May from Southeastern Louisiana State.
I look forward to seeing previous students and meeting new students and families, and helping each child be as successful as possible. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to reach out!
Conference Time: Please reach out through Parent Square as my schedule has not been finalized at this time.
