Mrs. B's Life Skills Classroom

My name is Heather Blankenship, or Mrs. B. I am the K-2 Life Skills Teacher at Cannon Elementary. I have been a special education teacher for 25 years. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I started out in Oklahoma in a self contained ED classroom for 3 years and then moved to Texas. I taught resource for 15 years in McKinney, TX and 7 years in Melissa, TX before my husband (Eric) and I decided to move to the Lake now that we are empty nesters! We have a daughter who is the Outdoor Education Specialist at Highlands Lake Camp and a daughter who is a goal keeper for the Southeastern Louisiana State Lions. I have spent my last 22 years both teaching and serving as the lead special education teacher at my campuses and absolutely love what I do.  The last 2 years I have spent as the Lead and ARD facilitator so I am very excited to get back to working directly with students. I look forward to meeting the kids and families and helping each child be as successful as possible. If there is anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to reach out!
