Mrs. B's Functional Academics Classroom

My name is Heather Blankenship, or Mrs. B. I am the K-2 Functional Academics Teacher at Cannon Elementary. I have been a special education teacher for 27 years and this will be my 3rd year in Quinlan ISD. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I started out in Oklahoma in a self contained ED classroom for 3 years and then moved to Texas. I taught resource for 15 years in McKinney, TX and 7 years in Melissa, TX before my husband (Eric) and I decided to move to the Lake now that we are empty nesters! 

 

Our oldest daughter, Isabella, is the Children's Pastor at First Baptist Church in Athens Texas. Our youngest daughter, Anna, is the teacher in our Life Skills classroom at Cannon. I love getting to teach next door to her and we make a great team to help our students.
